How would you deal with this situation?!

  1. Hmm... first tell the girl or boy (can't quite figure it out), in a kind way that he/she can't do that to her baby sister because it might do her bad and then clean the baby and nurture her... simple.

  2. Thanks for the comment! This was actually an exam question for a Child Development course I was taking. We had to write on Positive Disciplinary tactics one would use in such a situation--but I thought the picture was very cute and had to post it. Thanks again for your input!

I would try to do what my Prophet (peace be upon him) would do, although this is EASIER said than done! I walk in the room. smile. say a gentle "noooo nooo nooo!" take the baby, clean her up. then approach the culprit, try to figure out the motive. It's probably going to be a super cute story. something like, " i have no paper so hee hee hee!" I would then say again "noo noo noo!" (while smiling), then explain how God created everything for a purpose. For example, paper. I would give her a quiz and ask her "what can you do with paper?" Then I'd probably get more cute responses and then ask her if her baby sister is her baby sister or paper. she'd obviously (hopefully!) not say that she's paper. Then you say " then why did you write on her". Don't expect a correct answer at this point, just give a kiss and have some ice cream. YAY!

  4. Masha'Allah, Brother Omair--I wish parents would implement that kind of love and understanding to their children instead of displaying anger and impatience. May Allah swt grant all parents hikmah/wisdom, sabr/patience and love and understanding in order to raise the next generation of understanding, responsible, disciplined and God-fearing, righteous children. Tawfiq, insha'Allah!
